My name is Patrick Hansen. I’ve been an artist my entire life, well at least as far back as I can remember.
Throughout my life I have participated with a variety of artistic mediums, everything from design, music (guitar, DJ), writing, action sports (skateboarding, snowboarding), martial arts (Shao-lin Kung fu, muay thai, jiu jitsu) and of course the wide spectrum of visual and fine arts. It seems as if I am just innately attracted to almost anything creative.
As far as visual and fine arts, this has been one of my predominate creative outlets. I have always enjoyed drawing, painting and illustrating. I’ve worked with a variety of styles along with subject matter. I have never really settled on a particular direction or style. I think this is for a variety of reasons; from not wanting to feel restricted and always simply maintaining a fundamental aspect of art which is exploration.
There are so many things to draw/paint or even sculpt, so many styles and it’s great knowing that I have the freedom to express my mind in any channel I feel appropriate for that moment.
The Animashup series demonstrates just one side of my work and mind. It was a fun series that allowed me to get back into drawing and with low pressure and high enjoyment. It even allowed me to include the community over social networks who provided the majority of creature ideas.
